Allow USB Debugging Not Showing on Jaecoo / Omoda

The first time a computer or phone connects over ADB, the car asks Allow USB debugging?. Until you tap Allow, the installer reports The car hasn’t allowed this computer yet and can’t go further.

Cause 1: The prompt is on the car screen, unnoticed

Look at the car screen right after pressing Connect Head Unit. Tap Allow and tick Always allow from this computer, then press Connect Head Unit again.

Cause 2: The prompt never appeared

1. Open the engineering menu and turn Adb Switch off, then back to Open.
2. Unplug the USB cable and plug it back in.
3. Press Connect Head Unit again and watch the car screen.

Cause 3: The screen is off

The prompt can only appear on an awake screen. Keep the car switched on for the whole connection, then reconnect.

Cause 4: You tapped Cancel by mistake

The car only asks once per connection. Unplug the USB cable, plug it back in and press Connect Head Unit: the question comes up again. This time tap Allow.

Cause 5: Another program holds the connection

If ADB tools run on the same computer, they can take the car’s connection before the browser does. The installer then reports The car’s USB port is used by another program.

1. Close any other tab that has the install page open.
2. Quit Android Studio, scrcpy or other ADB tools. If ADB is installed, run adb kill-server in a terminal.
3. Unplug the cable, plug it back in and press Connect Head Unit.
