Android protects the Device Owner app: it can’t be uninstalled until that role is removed. JaecooApp gets the role when installed with the installer, so uninstalling it first needs one switch in the app.

Before you revoke

Device Owner is what lets JaecooApp hide apps and switch off the built-in maps. Once it is revoked, JaecooApp can no longer change them, so undo those first:

  1. In JaecooApp → App Manager, turn Show back on for every app marked Hidden.
  2. In JaecooApp → System, turn off Disable native maps if you turned it on.

Step 1: Revoke Device Owner on the car

  1. Open JaecooApp → System.
  2. Under Device Owner permission, tap Revoke.
  3. Confirm with I agree. The app shows Device Owner permission cleared. You can now uninstall apps normally.

Step 2: Uninstall

On the installer page, connect the car and press Uninstall app.

If it still won’t uninstall

  • The Revoke button is missing: the System screen says Not granted, so JaecooApp isn’t the Device Owner and the problem is elsewhere. Reconnect the car and try Uninstall app again.
  • Revoking fails with Failed to clear Device Owner permission: close JaecooApp, open it again and repeat step 1.
  • The installer can’t reach the car: see Car not found in the WebUSB installer.

JaecooApp can’t remove itself from its own App Store or App Manager; uninstalling always goes through the installer page.

Frequently asked questions

What stops working after I revoke Device Owner?

Silent install and update, app hiding and the other features that need it. Granting it again requires a computer and the installer.

Are the apps JaecooApp installed removed with it?

No. YouTube, Google Maps and the other apps stay on the car. Only JaecooApp and its own data, such as trip history and widget settings, are removed.

Can I revoke Device Owner without uninstalling?

Yes. JaecooApp keeps working, but silent installs and updates, app hiding and disabling the built-in maps stop until you reinstall it with the installer.
