JaecooApp shows apps in a floating window (Multitasking) and its weather in a floating bubble. Both need permissions the car screen has no switch for. Find the message you see below.
“Floating windows are off”
Open JaecooApp → Multitasking and tap Turn on.
If it then says JaecooApp is not allowed to turn them on, JaecooApp was installed without the needed permission. Reinstall it with the installer.
The app opens full screen instead of floating
Close the app first if it’s already open full screen, then tap Launch layout again.
The window disappears after Home or switching apps
Turn on Keep the floating window on top in Multitasking. It needs the accessibility service JaecooApp floating window keeper: tap the hint, or enable it in Settings › Accessibility.
“This head unit does not support floating windows”
The car’s software doesn’t offer floating windows, so this feature can’t work on it.
The weather bubble or another app’s bubble doesn’t appear
Bubbles need the Display over other apps permission. Grant it from the installer page in Floating bubble permission for installed apps: see How to enable chat bubbles. The weather bubble appears when you leave JaecooApp, not while it’s open.
The window is in the wrong place or size
In Multitasking, choose Window shape and Window position, then adjust the size in Preview by dragging the handle. Reset brings back the default size.
The floating window shortcut on the ring does nothing
- Choose an app on the Multitasking screen first: pick the Floating App before using the shortcut.
- On the ring, but the floating widget is off: turn the bubble on in the Floating Widget tab.
Frequently asked questions
What does the floating window keeper read?
Only which app windows are on screen and where the floating window's close button is. It reads nothing else inside them, and JaecooApp turns it on only while a floating window is open.
Does every app work in a floating window?
Any app with a launcher icon can be chosen. If the app is already open full screen, close it first, then launch the layout.
