YouTube Music is the easiest way to get your own playlists, liked songs and mixes on the Jaecoo J7 or Omoda C5 screen without plugging in a phone. Morphe YouTube Music from Jaecoo Store adds background playback, an audio-only mode and no ads.

If YouTube is already on your car (see How to install YouTube on the Jaecoo J7), JaecooApp and MicroG are installed: skip to step 3.

What you need

  • JaecooApp on the car. If it isn’t there yet: enable ADB, then use the installer.
  • A Google account, and internet on the car (for example your phone’s Wi-Fi hotspot).

Step 1: Install JaecooApp

Follow the ADB guide for your car, then install JaecooApp from your browser with the installer. It takes about ten minutes the first time.

Step 2: Install MicroG and sign in

  1. Open JaecooApp → App Store → Jaecoo store and install MicroG.
  2. Open MicroG and sign in with your Google account.

Step 3: Install YouTube Music

  1. In Jaecoo store, install Morphe YouTube Music.
  2. Open it and choose the account you added in MicroG. Your library and playlists load as on your phone.

Frequently asked questions

Does music keep playing when I open Google Maps?

Yes. Morphe YouTube Music supports background playback, so audio keeps going while another app is on screen.

Do I need YouTube Premium?

No. Background playback and the audio-only mode are part of the Morphe build.

Why do I have to install MicroG?

The car has no Google Play Services. MicroG takes its place so YouTube Music can sign in and sync your playlists.
