YouTube keeps asking to sign inNo Google account to choose in YouTubeGoogle sign-in failed
On this page
On the Jaecoo J7 and Omoda C5, Google sign-in for Morphe YouTube, YouTube Music and Google Maps goes through MicroG. When sign-in fails, the cause is nearly always on the MicroG side. Go through these in order.
Cause 1: MicroG is missing, or has no account
- Open JaecooApp → App Store → Jaecoo store and check MicroG is installed.
- Open MicroG and add your Google account there, not in YouTube.
- Reopen YouTube and choose that account.
Cause 2: No internet on the car
Sign-in needs a working connection. Check the head unit is online, for example on your phone’s hotspot (JaecooApp’s Wi-Fi Network tab shows Connected to Internet).
Cause 3: The car’s date and time are wrong
Google sign-in fails when the clock is far off. Check the date, time and time zone in the car’s settings.
Cause 4: MicroG settings
In MicroG’s settings, make sure Google device registration and Cloud messaging are turned on, then open YouTube again.
Cause 5: A stuck account
- In MicroG, remove the Google account.
- Add it again, then reopen YouTube.
Google Play sign-in in JaecooApp
JaecooApp’s Online store signs in to Google Play with the account in MicroG, so the same causes apply. Its messages:
- microG required: install MicroG and add a Google account in it.
- Google sign-in failed: check the internet connection and the car’s clock, then tap Sign in again.
- Google session expired. Please sign in again.: tap Sign in.
Frequently asked questions
Why does YouTube need MicroG at all?
The head unit has no Google Play Services. Morphe YouTube, YouTube Music and Google Maps from Jaecoo Store sign in through MicroG instead.
Do I have to sign in in every app?
No. Add your Google account once in MicroG. YouTube, YouTube Music, Google Maps and JaecooApp's Online store all use it.
