What does your Jaecoo J7 really use, and what does a trip cost? The dashboard shows an average, but not per trip and not in money. JaecooApp’s Trip screen records each drive and shows fuel used, L/100 km, fuel cost and cost per km.

What you get per trip

  • Distance, driving time and time stopped
  • Fuel used and consumption in L/100 km
  • Fuel cost and cost per km, from the fuel price you enter
  • Average and top speed, stops
  • Share of distance and consumption per drive mode: Eco, Normal, Sport
  • A comparison with your usual trips: Used 12% less fuel per km than your usual trips

Step 1: Install JaecooApp

Enable ADB on the J7 and install JaecooApp from the installer.

Step 2: Set the fuel price

Open JaecooApp → Trip, tap Price per litre, enter what you pay per litre and your currency, then Save. Finished trips keep the price they were saved with.

Step 3: Record a trip

  1. Tap Start before you set off.
  2. Drive as usual. You can switch screens or turn the engine off for a stop; recording continues.
  3. Tap Finish at the end. The trip goes to history.

Check it with the full-tank method

The trip figures come from the car’s own counters. To measure real consumption independently:

  1. Fill the tank until the pump clicks off and reset a trip counter.
  2. Drive normally, ideally a few hundred km.
  3. Fill up again until it clicks off and note the litres.
  4. L/100 km = litres ÷ km × 100. Compare it with JaecooApp’s figures over the same period.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the fuel figure?

JaecooApp calculates it from the car's own average consumption and the distance driven, so it is an estimate that follows the trip computer. The full-tank method below is the reference.

Do I have to keep JaecooApp open while driving?

No. Recording continues in the background, even if you switch the engine off and on, until you tap Finish.

Does it work on the Omoda C5?

The trip screen reads the car's counters. It has been tested on the petrol Jaecoo J7; other models may not report every figure.
