Once Google Maps or Waze is on the car, the built-in navigation of the Jaecoo J7 or Omoda C5 can get in the way. JaecooApp can suspend and hide it without deleting anything.

Before you start

JaecooApp must be the car’s Device Owner, which the installer sets up when it installs the app. If it couldn’t, see the Device Owner errors.

Turn the built-in maps off

  1. Open JaecooApp → System.
  2. Turn on Disable native maps. The line below shows which apps it suspends and hides.
  3. The app confirms with Native maps disabled.

To bring them back, turn the switch off: Native maps restored.

What the switch actually does

For each built-in map app it finds, JaecooApp does two things: it suspends the app so it can’t run, and hides its icon from the launcher. Nothing is uninstalled and no data is deleted. Turning the switch off reverses both, and the map app is back as it was.

Phone projection is not affected: navigation in Android Auto or CarPlay keeps working.

Before you uninstall JaecooApp

Turn Disable native maps off first. Once JaecooApp’s Device Owner permission is revoked, it can no longer bring the built-in maps back (how to uninstall JaecooApp).

Frequently asked questions

Is the built-in map deleted?

No. It is suspended and hidden. Turn the switch off and it comes back.

Why does it say "Needs Device Owner"?

Suspending a system app needs that permission. Reinstall JaecooApp with the web installer so it is granted.

Which apps does it disable?

Only the car's built-in map apps that JaecooApp finds on your head unit. Their names are listed under the switch.

Does it stop Android Auto or CarPlay navigation?

No. Only the car's own map apps are suspended. Phone projection keeps working.
