If the Jaecoo J7 or Omoda C5 screen turns off while you’re reading the weather or watching a trip being recorded, JaecooApp can keep it on.
Turn it on
- Open JaecooApp → System.
- In Cockpit Preferences & About, turn on Keep Screen On.
The screen then stays on while JaecooApp is active. Other apps keep the car’s normal behaviour.
When it helps
- Trip (J7): keep distance, fuel and cost in sight while a trip is being recorded.
- Weather: leave the forecast, air quality and UV index on screen during a stop.
- Setting things up: stay on a JaecooApp screen while you choose gestures or widget options, without it going dark halfway.
What it changes, and what it doesn’t
- It works only while a JaecooApp screen is in front. Open another app or go Home and the car’s usual behaviour returns.
- The floating weather bubble doesn’t keep the screen on by itself.
- No car setting is changed. Turn the switch off, or uninstall JaecooApp, and the screen behaves exactly as before.
The screen still turns off?
- Check that Keep Screen On is still switched on. The choice is saved and applied again each time JaecooApp opens.
- Make sure JaecooApp is the app on screen, not running behind another one.
- There’s no need to restart anything: the switch takes effect the moment you flip it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Keep Screen On work in Google Maps or YouTube?
No. It applies only while JaecooApp is on screen. Other apps decide for themselves whether the screen stays on.
Is the setting kept when the car is switched off?
Yes. It is saved in JaecooApp and applied again every time the app opens.
Is Keep Screen On turned on by default?
No. It stays off until you switch it on in System.
